This policeman, QV 402 of the met was seen to repeatedly assault women on the childrens march to drax power station.

Amongst QV 402's many proud achievements on the day was pushing a woman into a wheelchair during the fast paced forced march to the power station.

Apart from his general manhandling of women, our brave cop was fond of shoving a woman from behind, and then telling her to move on!

Maybe his superiors should have a little chat with the 'gentle'man in question as they surely can't be that proud of this brave policeman attacking peaceful women marchers.

Agreed that this cop is a nasty piece of work and it is awful that anyone was pushed and/or attacked in any way on the kids bloc.

However please can we stop the sexism. It's no worse that a woman was pushed than a man and I find the indignation expressed that he pushed "women" offensive.

I am a woman who has both been assaulted many times by cops and witnessed friends of both sexes being assaulted and their gender does not make a difference to the impact of the assault or does it make any moral distinction.

Feminist's comments might be valid but for the fact that the march was mainly women, and this policeman was, to my knowledge, only seen to assault women.

As for 'stupid hippies' comment, children do have an interest in climate change - it is they who will suffer the most from the selfish consumerism of today. Some of the kids on the march were actually very able and lucid in talking about the issues. It is maybe sad that 'stupid hippies' is against peaceful protest because of the fear of police violence. Violence is used to intimidate people so that they won't protest. To give into the threat of violence is to relinquish our rights without a struggle. 'stupid hippies' might be happy to do that, but the climate camp protesters were of a different mind.

People say all this good stuff about the police, and there are some genuinely nice ones, but that's like 5% of them. This is a classic example of the hired goons this government uses to protect it's own assets.

Your sad remarks are akin to blaiming the victim. Never ever suggest that people should not take their kids along.

Lets be frank about this, the police want people to be scared and stay at home, and those that do not will be mistreated in the hope that they will react in a way that will allow the police to respond with an 'iron fist'.

I believe that the rushes compiled by indymedia and available on archive.org show this cop pushing the person into the wheel chair...

It also has footage of the tractor driver charging into protesters, and the police choosing not to arrest him!
