Dover Live Export Demo Policing Costs

The following information was obtained via Freedom Of Information request from Kent Police regarding the cost of policing Ban Live Exports demos at Dover, Kent UK.
The costs for this financial year (ie. April 2006 onwards) are:
£9,600 spent in total for the Animal Rights demonstration through Dover town on 06.05.06
£20,800 spent in total for the Animal Rights Protest on 29.07.06 at Dover Docks
£8,250 spent in total for the ongoing policing response to demonstrations against live animal exports at Dover Docks
Such policing is funded from Kent Police's general contingency "pot" held within Specialist Operations.
For every £100 spent on Council Tax, £9 goes to Kent Police.
