Anti dam protests in Iceland snaps!

Alex | 28.08.2006 17:09 | Ecology | Sheffield

We travelled to Iceland to join the protest camp against the Kárahnjúkar dam building. Thought you would like to see a couple of our snaps! None of the actions unfortunately, but some that show the scale of the dam and the surrounding landscape

We took the ferry to Iceland, and then travelled around a bit, ending up at the protest camp in the highlands around the Vatnajokull glacier, the largest in Europe, where the landscape is being devastated in order to build the Kárahnjúkar dam, which is being built solely to provide power for an Alcoa aluminium smelter in Iceland's eastern fjords.
