Police Refuse Offer to Tour Climate Camp Site

A message from someone at the climate camp says that an offer to allow the police onto the site for an escorted tour around has been refused by the police. People had asked the police to not film or enter tents during the proposed tour.
The police are apparently demanding to be allowed onto the site at any time, to film / photograph people and search tents if they wish to.

The legality of this is questionable since there are section 6 notices on the gate and perimiter of the camp.
The police had said that if they are not allowed onsite, they will enter the site regardless. This was considered by people at the camp and the offer of an escorted tour made.
At the camp many people are getting on with their workshops and discussions, some led by internationally renowned experts on climate change.
Someone else at the camp said the statements by police represent an increase in police pressure against the camp, which is unfortunate as so far much of the liaison with the police had been good. There are lots of children onsite and of course people are not happy with the police saying they will 'enter the camp regardless'.
In general everything else seems cool, after a wet night the sun has been out for much of the day and workshops continue.
