I dislike the BNP as much as the next person, but this naming of individuals workplaces is counter productive, naive and dangerous: one day it may be left wingers/activists who are 'outed' and while at the moment there would be no real consequences, times change, and maybe those on the left will be kicked out of jobs, etc. It also sets a precedent, racist will start doing it to muslims they consider fundamentalists. I also think morally it is wrong to out individuals workplaces, if the persons work colleagues find out and decide to confront them, all well and good, but i don't think it is up to toytown revolutionaries to do so.,

While I totally agree with the Redwatch comments, from what I have read this post has been taken out of context. At no point has anyone suggested that Roy James be subject to any form of physical attack; no appeal has been made for details of home address etc to be published. (As this post refers to a reasonably well known public figure, employed in the city centre in a store open to the general public the information posted here can not really be classified as personal / private.) As a high profile member of the BNP Roy places himself as a public figure supporting highly right wing racist attitudes.

If his employers are unaware of Roy's BNP involvement then they have a right to know. Blacks are legally liable for Roy whilst in their employment. They are responsible for ensuring that there is no racism in the workplace.

In legal jargon this is known as ‘vicarious liability’. The employer can only avoid taking the blame if he or she can show that they have taken reasonable practical steps to prevent discrimination. This should include taking disciplinary action against anyone guilty of racist behaviour.

In theory Blacks could be sued just for employing this person . . .

No one is inciting violence against members of the BNP, but I think it's important that Blacks realise the sort of person they are employing.

In the post below taken from Stormfront Roy James uses his charming username of "Heidrich 41" to express his opinion of various ethnic groups. Can Blacks guarantee Roy James will treat "women pushing round prams with half monkeys" with the same degree of customer care he extends to members of his beloved Aryan master race?

Firstly, I'd like to say that the author of this post seems to have been illiterate, parts of the article don't actually make sense. This article may not be inviting violence against Roy James, but it certainly is harrassment and simply playground games. And yet you complain that such things happen on redwatch. I sincerely hope that Roy James looks furthur into taking legal action against the author of this post and if he is unable, due to the fact you've resulted in him being sacked, I will personally provide the money needed to sue your ass.

I also assume that the author of this article has never met Roy James. I have. I'm not a member of the British National Party, but I have met Roy James and I would not describe him as a "scum bag". The rumour that Roy James uses stormfront is purely speculation and both the left and right wing both know that no proof proving either way will ever be provided by Stormfront.

I contest that it is actually you who is the "fuckwit" as you so ellegantly put it and I sincerely hope that you get whats coming to you. I also suspect that you wouldn't have the nerve to say such a thing to his face, but I may be wrong, just don't expect much more from a liberal.

I also hope that as well as sueing your ass, Roy James considers sueing blacks for this example of gross miss dismissal.

As a 'liberal' with a job I was at first unhappy that my taxes are now supporting both Roy James as well as his Polish immigrant girlfriend (pictured next to Roy), but the response from the BNP supporter makes it clear how much this has pissed of the BNP off and I think it's money well spent.

Firstly it is speculation that this man has been dismissed - as the previous post points out he could simply have a day off. If he has been dismissed noone other than Roy and his employer know of the reason why and it may be unrelated.

If Blacks have dismissed Roy due to discovering him to be a BNP candidate they are perfectly within their rights to do so as they have to comply with anti-discrimination laws. If Roy was merely as supporter/voter of the BNP then it would be a different matter as this is personal information. However certain choices / decisions / sacrifices have been made when he chose to stand as a BNP candidate.

As a member of a minority group myself I personally would feel uncomfortable / intimidated by the presence of a BNP candidate instore. While I may not go as far as to sue / complain to Blacks - I certainly would not shop there. Blacks have to consider the direct effect on their business.

While I disagree with the "name calling" in the posts and subsequent comments (from both sides) I can understand that the BNPs racist/discriminatory policies make people (like whoever posted the above article) feel very upset and angry.

With regards to suing Blacks / the poster of the article, I have already pointed out where the law stand with regards to Blacks (ie 'vicarious liability' - see above). With regards to sueing the poster - the details have informed Blacks / the public of a potential legal issue with regards to the implications of employing a BNP candidate. The only issue would be with him being referred to as a "fuckwit" and a "scumbag" - which while it may not be particularly constructive to the post or pleasant to Roy James - in practice it is difficult to prosecute someone for insulting you unless there was some form of threatening violence or serious liable involved. Between the original post and the comments several insults have been hurled on both sides - the only one from a legal perspective that may be construed as threatening would be that of BNP Backer saying "I sincereley hope that you get whats coming to you", and even this would be a weak case in a court of law.

I don't like the BNP or what they stand for but if we were to start attacking people for their political persuations does this mean we should also name and shame labour party members? They do afterall support a party that is killing thousands over in the middle east including women and children and non combatants not to mention our own troops dying in a sensless war.

If we were going to point fingers and say who is or isn't a liabilty my thoughts are more on labours mass murder and its consequences.

The user name Roy James was using to post on the 'white nationalist' web site called "Stormfront" is "Heidrich41".

Heidrich was a particularly nasty mass murdering Nazi. Mr James also used a picture of Heidrich as his avatar and a quote from Hitler in his signature.

The IP address for Roy James is a static address and matches the IP address of Heidrich41. In addition to this evidence there are matching birthdays, matching details about this "partner" a polish migrant, grammar and use of quotes amongst other things.

In the following thread Mr James makes the mistake of holding his hand up when people were talking about Heidrich41:

Had, Roy been a muslim extremist (and despite what some of you think they do exist) and was sacked for his belief's it would be seen as racist by many on this board. I don't see the difference myself. For you BNP watchers, you've scored an own goal as he is now underground where as before his sacking, you knew where he was and could keep an eye on him. I couldn't comment on some of the allegations in this report as I don't have access to the place in question.

Not sure who's going to gain most from this action in the long run.

It was confirmed this morning that the semi iliterate scum that is roy james has been sacked from his post at blacks.

This is the man that put me on redwatch last year who threatened to fire bomb my home. He has also made numerous personal threats of violence against me with the offer for me to meet him out side Bar Matrix where he still works or at least used to. Surrounded no doubt by his fellow facist bouncer friends. (ooo very hard)

I have been attacked in the street by friends of this highly evil facist but escaped by the fact that I'm quite 'hard' myself. The level of this mans primitive beliefs are simply quite beyond the realms of reason and he will stop at nothing to see them enforced: once claiming that when the BNP get in to power the first thing he was going to do was execute the commies. This coming from someone who is in a political party is quite simply a step too far.

His sacking has cheered me up no end. I believe all employers should have the option of not employing an extremist terrorist like Roy James. I hope he rots in hell for all the misery and spite he has spread in this world.

I will defend anyones right to their own beliefs but since the threats against me and my family are real and concurrent I consider this an act of war. And I will get him one day when hes least expecting and will relish every moment.

Whatever your views or mine, he and anyone else in this country are entitled to their own beliefs, that is what democracy is about, keep things in the open, that way people are able to make up their own minds, if you drive things underground because you don't like them then you may as well live in north Korea.
