I do not feel sorry for dead soldiers

notowar | 10.08.2006 15:29 | Anti-militarism | London

I am really sorry but I do not want to feel sorry for soldiers. At least soldiers get a choice. They choose to go out and kill or be killed. However, innocent people across the world are paying the price for the warmongers. Some soldiers have refused to go to war on a point of conscience. I so wish UK soldiers in Iraq would do the same - that way you can save the lives of innocent people, stop an illegal invasion, save yourself and your family.

If you are a soldier for money, you are no different to the mercenary Sir Mark Thatcher, knighted by the Queen and those other despicable figures that stand for the values of Blair. This is the kind of patriotism that one can do without.

One message for these people, Keep your blood money and your blood lifestyles and do not expect me to defend them.

If anyone thinks the Iraq and Lebanon wars are for any other reason than war and power, read Greg Pallast's book on "the Best Democracy You Can Buy'. If you still think that UK politics are great, carry on, you and the UK are doing a great job.

We can change the world - lets say no to killing.
