New Labour New Terror

disempowered | 01.08.2006 11:53 | Lebanon War 2006 | Terror War

Britain's positioning on the Israeli side by helping the sifting of bombs from the US has made us all participants in the murder of Lebanon’s children, in a clear act of terror on innocent civilians. Thank you New Labour for making me a terrorist.

We cannot claim to be neutral in the massacre of children, women and the elderly in Lebanon when our government is actively helping to kill them. Are we now ourselves terrorists by contributing to Lebanon’s 9/11?. Can we have a clear conscience when this is done with our own taxes, with our own money?. I am afraid that we are now, thanks to New Labour, involved in helping terrorist activities and war crimes. How do we feel when some of our own innocent civilians die on the hands of terrorists?. How can that feeling differ from that of the innocent civilian victims of Lebanon and their families?. If we are not racists, that think other peoples innocent civilian lives are expendable, how can we allow our government to help killing innocent civilians in Lebanon?. Well, I suppose that we are all feeling disempowered by the lack of acknowledgement that our government has paid us with since the war in Iraq, this feeling is not new. Why are we not given a choice but to feel like terrorists?, why this atrocities are made in our name?, why should I feel responsible when I am totally against this war crimes and innocent civilians paying the ultimate price for a war imposed on them?. I feel like saying sorry to the Lebanese people for my involvement in this new crimes, even if forced by the New Labour government in Britain, who are not listening to me, are not giving me a choice or the freedom to oppose carrying such a stone in my conscience. Thank you New Labour for making me a criminal.

A ceasefire can never be too early. The innocent civilians killed by Israel don’t have a choice of escaping because the roads are destroyed and there is not safe corridors, many people in that area don’t have the means to afford transport, are too ill, too old, to young or disable to escape. They cannot choose to escape and their lives should be spared. I do feel for the Israeli innocent civilians killed but don’t feel responsible because my money doesn’t go to help carry the weapons that kill them. Thank you New Labour for making me a target.

Sorry lebanese innocent civilians victims of this war and your families but I cannot stop you being massacred, my government says give war a chance. Thank you New Labour for not listening to me and disempower me. Before the Iraq war peace demo on 15th February 2003 you put tanks on the streets of Britain. I wasn’t deterred to exercise my right of peaceful protest then and won’t be today neither.

See you in Glasgow, George Square, Today Tuesday 1st August at 5.30pm
