ANTI MASSACRE CRITICAL MASS HACKNEY

MORE ACTION | 30.07.2006 09:51 | Free Spaces | Repression | Social Struggles | London

We begun a critical mass of cyclists, together with a bicycle-run mobile sound system, to take our message to the streets of Hackney, through pre-recorded messages we transmitted the sound of wars, through protest/ lie-ins in targeted spaces, street performance, through fliers and through our voices.

TO BE CONTINUE.......

The system we are all part of is based on consumerist circle that work like this: it looks for natural resources, extract them, transport them, convert them; then it uses them, throw away what is left, look for natural resources...... doesn't matter the environmental and human destruction. The places rich of natural resources are the one constantly raped, divided and destroyed by wars and trade agreement that leave them with nothing than suffering.
It is truth that wars are not here (yet) and we can not even imagine the reality of those ones, for which war zone is day to day experience. Also, in order to protect "our way of living", governments want us to develop the ability to ignore the suffering we cause.
they say time is money, but time is life, if we lose it, we kill. here we have our heart blind, speechless and def, we allowed ourselves to lose time and with it our responsability to think that everything is connected. we go from home to the car to our jobs to the car to shopping to our homes and we die in front of the tv consuming at last the lies running fast in the electronic waves.

We say NO, we can't and we don't want to forget anybody. Solution will come from action we take every day to stop our dependency from a murderous mechanism. The future is now. It is experience that develops us.
Everyday we produce the future. The future is the multiplication of new types of space, where other principles reign, where other emotions are produced, work is organised in new forms (happiness). We don' t want a market-led world, with all its miseries and anguish, we are the other world, we are inventing it here and now, in this space where we meet and we do things together.
