Sunday August 6th is Hiroshima memorial day and there will be a gathering on Midsommer Common at 8.30 p.m.
A vigil and lantern floating ceremony will take place on Hiroshima Memorial Day to remember all those who were killed or who suffered as the result of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.
We will meet together from 8.30.p.m. on Midsummer Common beside the Fort St. George. Lanterns will be available.
After they are lit we will then gather to keep silence for about 5 minutes . There are no planned speeches but those who wish to share their thoughts might like to do so. After the silence has been kept we will set the lanterns afloat on the Cam.
