Protest vigil for Palestine and Lebanon - Saturday 29th July

There will be a protest vigil from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Carfax end of Cornmarket in central Oxford this Saturday (29th July).


There will be street theatre by members of the Palestinian and Lebanese communities. There will also be a stall in support of fundraising for the Lebanese Social Movements. Please feel free to bring your own posters etc.


There will also be a ‘Voices for Lebanon and Palestine’ rally on Sunday 30th July, 1-3pm in central London.

With Alexei Sayle, Bruce Kent, Maxine Peake, Simon Callow, Bill Paterson, Tony Benn, Kika Markham, Corin Redgrave, Sam West, Henry Guterman, Andy de la Tour, Murad Qureshi AM, John Austin MP, Revd Richard Carter (St Martin in the Fields), Hugh Lanning (Assistant General Secretary PCS union), Zeinab Daher, speakers from Lebanon and Palestine and more..

Ex-Python Terry Jones has written a piece to be performed in Trafalgar Square, and Michael Kustow has compiled and will direct a performance using the words of Harold Pinter, Robert Fisk, Amira Hass, Adrian Mitchell, Daniel Barenboim and Lebanese artist Zena el Khalil and Palestine's leading poet Mahmoud Darwish
