this is what self defence looks like

today 60 lebanese civilians have already been killed. civilians trying
to escape from their homes throughout south lebanon are targeted.
trucks with food, aid and rescue convoys are bombed.

the state of israel feels complete freedom in carrying out one massacre
after another because this zionist occupation force is confident that
it has the support of the arab and international regimes especially
those preoccupied with spreading democracy. and the corporate mass
media is doing a brilliant job in legitimizing Israeli monstrous
attacks by providing an absurdly distorted coverage. thereby, if
murdered lebanese children, and the charred dismembered bodies of the
over 300 civilians killed in lebanon since last wednesday, are nowhere
to be seen or heard of in the news, their deaths might have as well not
taken place. when will this terrorist state be stopped? How many more
massacres will it take? How much more military, financial and political
support will it keep receiving? When will we realize that this is not
an unfortunate situation the palestinian or lebanese people are going
through, and that what is happening does have an impact beyond the
computer or television sceen. When will we see that we are all
accountable for this injustice?
the violence is not just in the images we see in the media, or rather
their abscence. the violence is also in the way this distorted coverage
and massacres distort our very being. it is our own humanity at stake.
Don?t just feel sorry for the lebanese and palestinians being
self-rightiously killed, bombed and devastated. do something for
yourself.

Of all the pictures showing Israeli atrocities, why choose this one?

Get yourselves to uruknet.info people. Remember, just like those that lived through the rise to power of Adolf Hitler, you will find that those places you assume would want to tell the truth are magically devoid of the real pictures, and powerful words.

Well, they sure as hell are missing from the picture in your article, 'z'. What is your excuse :(

Well you should know, 'z'. And you don't even provide a link to where such images can be found. I will:
www.uruknet.info
Please be warned, though. Seeing the images of racist mass murder will leave you feeling the same about Israel as those allied soldiers that first entered the death camps did about the nazis.
I'm sorry to be hard on you 'z', but self-censorship makes the person an unwilling servant of Blair. Today, Israel is more powerful than ever by constantly using images of jewish suffering from WW2. Sixty years on, and the ONLY lasting images of suffering the ordinary person sees on their TV come from WW2. Hitler likewise banged on endlessly about the historic suffering of the German people. The atrocities of the past can be learnt from, but they hardly need stopping, since they came and went long ago.
We can't change the past, but we can certainly change our future by acting powerfully in our present. Israel works to keep people hostage to the past so that Israel may be free to carry out the atrocities of the future. 70 years ago, Hitler was up to the same trick.
This is our time, so that the atrocities that people MUST see are the atrocities happening NOW. Long dead monsters don't bother me in the least. However the monsters of today murder the people of today, and plan to murder the people of tomorrow. Show their crimes in all their sickening detail.
And yes, 'z', I know you think if pictures of Israeli atrocities were allowed on Indymedia UK, they would have long since appeared. How do you think the whole Indymedia UK censorship operation is designed. Some brutal acts of site censorship to encourage an atmosphere of self-censorship. Its an old old trick.

A bit harsh Twilight...

It was totally unecessary to write an entire whiney essay about it - great way to waste your time - come onto Indymedia and whine about all the articles and try and make it look like some kind of government-loving conspiracy. If you really cared so much, spend your time actually going out and DOING something about it - not running off wetting your pants about some photos - these pictures wouldn't exist if people actually bothered to make an effort against things like this.

Cost to the British tax payer against arms-export profits ?

Or to appeal to our more fascist posters, isn't it hostile of the Israelis to tie up British armed forces rescuing Brits from Israeli bombardment when those same British forces could be bombarding rag-heads in Iraq and Afghanistan ? Doesn't this place 'our boys' occupying foriegn oilfields at even greater risk for no appreciable gain ?
I never went down to London to oppose the supposed Pro-Zionist demo, because I couldn't rather than I recognised that it was a bluff in advance. My own government has killed more innocent muslims than the Israelis have. The IDF didn't destroy Fallujah. Thinking globally and acting locally means sabotaging your local weapons manufacturers. For me the ongoing Israeli crimes are secondary to the ongoing British occupations, but I want to be aware as possible of all the companies near me that supply arms to Israel, like BAE for example.
Doubtless there are quite a few intrepid and reckless Internationals already in southern Lebanon, or heading that way, and if any of you notice blogs/stories/posts from them please repost them here. Other than that the best thing I feel we can do is to hit British companies who profit from either or both of the invasions. For instance the HUDs used by Israeli and US F-16 pilots to target innocent civilains are built by British companies and the CVs on the engineers who worked on that project are available online just by googling. I'm not suggesting any particular action, I'm saying we have to stop the war-profiteers with the minimum violence necessary.
"The new criteria allowed the sale of British-manufactured 'Heads up Display Units' for incorporation into F-16 fighter jets to be sold on to Israel by the US."
