At the beginning of May 2006, members of the Iraq Solidarity Campaign and Middle East Cultural Association returned for the third time to Baqa’a – a Palestine Refugee Camp, which is located in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
At the beginning of May 2006, members of the Iraq Solidarity Campaign and Middle East Cultural Association returned for the third time to Baqa’a – a Palestine Refugee Camp, which is located in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Baqa’a Camp was established in 1968 after the Arab/Israeli six-day-war and today in 2006, Baqa’a is home to an estimated 120,000 displaced Palestinian’s.
Crossing Jordan is a public meeting, where members of the public are being invited to come and hear a first hand account from an Iraq Solidarity Campaign member and organiser of the 2006 delegation to Baqa’a Refugee Camp.
Following the report, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion on the continuing work that is being undertaken, to build bridges of friendship between the British and Arab communities…ALL WELCOME!
(please note) This meeting will include a discussion on the events inside Lebanon.
Date: Wednesday 19th July 2006, Time 7-30pm.
