Yes, we've gone for the nuclear option. The world has changed radically since the last energy review. At that time the situation was very different. Today it's different again. And tomorrow it might also be different. But. For the sake of our children we need to face the facts. Climate change. Global warming. Environmental change. Energy security. Climate change. We can't ignore the unpleasant realities. So. This government, my government, has to be bold and take the decisions that only we can take.

cue post from twilight telling us all this is PROOF of how Blair is really a Mossad run agent intent on supplying further enriched Plutonium to Israel so it can build more nuclear weapons and attack.... on I don't know how about New Zealand or Eduador.

Pretty good piss-take of Blair!

The truth is though, that Margaret Becket screwed up the last energy White Paper by forcing silly anti-nuclear policies into it - classing it with coal and gas and making nuke generators pay for non-existent CO2 emissions. It obviously should have been classed with wind, solar and hydro. Anyway, she's been moved over to destroying Iran's nuke industry instead and we're putting together a sensible energy policy by undoing her wrongheaded mistakes.
