Spanish House of Representatives considers Third Republic proclamation

The Requests Commission of the spanish House of Representatives (called Congreso de los Diputados) accepts a requirement asking to start a constitutional reform process aimed to suppress monarchy, reduce government branches interdependency while giving respect to liberty, equality, fraternity, austerity, laicism and pacifism.





Madrid – In February, 10, the Congress of Deputies received an individual request from Jaume d'Urgell explaining monarchy has no place nowadays because its nature is against individual equality, it comes into contradiction with first amendment of 1978 Spanish Constitution and it is also contrary to the first amendment in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Barcelona's deputy Jordi Marsal (from socialist parliament party) as president of Request Commission of Spanish Congress of Deputies, admitted this request in March, 22. At first stage it was read in April, 26 session agreeing to take it to parliament speakers of Constitutional Commission –presided by Alfonso Guerra–, in order to consider a Constitution change for every government authorities to be elected, fully eliminate links between government and religion, establish a real independence among Executive, Legislative and Judiciary government branches, renounce to war as a national politics instrument, recovery the memory of those who lost their lives to help others, to fully respect popular election governments, to ensure people to change economy structure, to modify country borders and to suppress old middle ages politics structures restored for long time died dictators.

The parliament member Josep Antoni Durán i Lleida, Aitor Esteban, Ramón Jáuregui, Begoña Lasagabaster, Gaspar Llamazares, Paulino Rivero, Joan Tardà y Federico Trillo will discuss the request proposal to allow it to continue its process for constitutional reform process.
