Certainly, I don't think it is outwith the bounds of probability that there have been at least a few around the world in recent years that have been hushed up in the interests of 'national security', lest the attacked country look weak, any publicity given to an attack naturally highlighting an unwelcome vulnerability that would rather not have too much attention drawn to it at such a time.

Which group benefits from these if they were concealed acts of sabotage? Is it a terror group engaging in these acts knowing that this government will react with more bluster and more repressive laws and more discontent? Is it some shadow group playing up the government's insecurity complex for its own nefarious ends? Is it the government itself attempting to justify its own laws that curb freedoms and rights in the name of its war on terror with low life-loss false flag events?

What throws a curve ball into this issue is that we know that this is a government that does not deserve to be trusted. We have heard how our government was complicit in acts of rendition, we know about the lies and disinformation and shifting agendas that led to Iraq, we know about the scandals and ineptness, the refusal to be accountable and transparent, the easy production of legislation that is shoddy and not thought through but which has long term significant consequences. This leaves a rather shabby government, and it is hard to look at them and not think that there is something sleazy about the bunch of them.

The consequence is that many, myself but one of untold thousands, just don't trust the government's integrity. I would not put anything past this government for it to get its own way. We see in the PM a man desperate to retain his stranglehold around the public throat, even as he looks us in the eyes and lies yet another time. We need only to think about his U-turn on nuclear power now backing the use of reactors, with the aforementioned cracks in the graphite bricks, to produce waste that no-one yet knows what to do with. Or perhaps his hypocrisy in threatening Iran for allegedly violating the NPT, all the while signig up to upgrading Trident. We are now informed that there will be no cap on military spending. Is it too much of a stretch to know the government is a liar and a hypocrit, reactive and authoritarian, to consider that it is complicit in some of these events? Certainly, the government would benefit from a generalised air of fear but not direct criticism if each one were reported. Recently several hundred terror instances had been thwarted apparently. It all adds to the fires of anxiety.

But for a terror group? How do they benefit - practice, a drill? To create chaos and fear, but then to not assume responsibility for anything, no demands, no claims for moral superiority and justification.

Whichever this might turn out to be - accident or deliberate, and if so then by whom - that we are at risk can only be exacerbated by our deplorable relationship with the US and our actions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In the literature that concerns the Illuminati relentless speculation abounds.
