Home of Yorkshire BNP man Chris Beverley attacked.

In the same week as the BNP's Nick Griffin and Mark Collett reappeared at Leeds Crown Court on race hate charges, the BNP-controlled website 'Stormfront' has reported an attack on the home of their West Yorkshire organiser Chris Beverley. According to the post, Beverley's windows were bricked, his car tyres slashed, and "BNP Scum" was daubed in paint outside his house.

I bet the bloke was out. This sort of behaviour is counter-productive and ultimately serves no purpose. The BNP will never be more than just a fringe party (it has got 50 seats out of about 3000) and will never end up having a majority in the House of Commons and thus being able to change policy. You middle class students and unemployed anarchists should stick to your studies and finding work and stop relying on us tax payers. The real fascists are already running the show and will not let the BNP be anything else other than a distraction.

This is to be condemned of course, and I hope the persons responsible are brought to justice and receive lengthy prison sentences. I have not seen the Stormfront posting (Stormfront has no connection with the BNP by the way, and reflects a far wider range of white nationalist opinion than the BNP), but it's odd that there's nothing on the BNP website. One would have expected them to to be quite keen to publicise this attack and portray themselves as victims of politically motivated violence.

Thankfully there are few people willing to chuck bricks at children and break the legs of those who fail to toe the party line; but there are far more who threaten violence which they would never carry out from the 'safety' of the internet. 'Batsy' should realise that threats made through the internet are just as criminal as those made in person, and people have been arrested and prosecuted for inciting violence via indymedia. When the police come to have a word with his parents (he sounds like he's about 11) he might understand.

One could ask if a political party or pressure group would be more likely to influence people and win votes by discussing their policies in a rational and civilised way, especially with those who disagree with them; or by threatening to break peoples' legs. Clearly the BNP believe in the former approach; and certain antifash the latter.

I dislike violence in its many forms, but as far as I am aware you can't be violent to a house - it is inanimate. No-one was hurt in this 'attack' other than the ego of the person's house it was.

Claims of 'babies in the house' always amuse me. It doesn't gain any support saying 'there was a baby in the house', instead making the person look like a coward hiding behind babies.

Personally, I think the attack was pointless but that is because it doesn't actually achieve much. If it had meant that the person would realise that being a fascist isn't the way forward then yes, but in this case all it will do is annoy him slightly.

To all the children above arguing, grow up. That is to both sides. Yes I know you don't like each other but arguing like children is not going to help, it isn't going to make anyone feel better.

A few incidents from the 90's perpertrated by the Antifa on the BNP. THESE ARE GENUINE.

A man loses an eye after being attacked by a large group, he was entirely on his own.

A man has his face slashed a number of times after a minibus is attacked in Leeds.

A woman loses a baby after her and her husband are attacked and kicked repeatedly.

A man is tied up and tortured in his house by a group of men, posing as maintenance men.

I posted this up after seeing it on Stormfront. Perhaps it was inevitable that this thread would quickly become trolled by fascists telling lies, sometimes pretending to be liberals, sometimes not pretending to be anything other than what they are. However since Indymedia are unable to distinguish between genuine posts and the posts of fascist trolls, as is obvious from the highly selective and arguably highly partisan 'pruning' of the comments, perhaps you should either remove ALL the comments AND the "addition" or remove the whole thread. It's a shame that once again Indymedia has shown itself to be so malleable by fascist trolls. As to why I'm not posting this on the IMC list - because I don't want me name giving to the fascists AGAIN.

For the record, as should be obvious to anyone with half a brain, there have been no injured babies or children, only fascist lies. Antiracists, non-whites, trade unionists, community activists, anti-war campaigners are constantly under the threat of violence by fascists, attacks on them in their homes and elsewhere are too numerous to mention. As was pointed out by Warren Bennett (former head of Nick Griffin's security team), Chris Beverley is a 'player', a violent man, who would be viewed as a legitimate target by militant antifascists. In this instance, the only thing damaged was his property, so arguably he got off lightly.

1. Not sure if this was a fall out among fash, but if this was antifa types, again shows the failure to offer a politcal alternative to the BNP in morley south- and leeds generally. They have fought from fighting a sole ward in 2000 - Morley south and polling 3.8% of the vote- to 22 wards with polls of over 20% in a few others. Oh- and 2000 votes and 32% in 2006 in Morley South

Where is the political opposition- where it matters- at the ballot box?

We are now in a different ball game than 1994. Sicne the council ecteions the BNP have formed 16 new units. And this is the sum total of the response?
