Public meeting on Camp Titnore

Worthing | 02.07.2006 16:09 | South Coast

A PUBLIC meeting is being held in support of Camp Titnore, the woodland protest site in Worthing, West Sussex.

The campers have received huge public support since setting up in the woods off Titnore Lane on May 28 in a bid to halt a massively unpopular 875-home development and road widening scheme, plus new Tesco, which will trash ancient woodland. The meeting to voice support for their efforts will feature talks on local ecology and history, plus contributions from Titnore Woods campaigners and the tree camp protesters themselves. It is being held at the Charles Dickens pub in Heene Road, Worthing (the end near the seafront) from 8pm.
