oh, simon, you don't get it do you? the whole point is that they are cutting the jobs so they got no jobs to go to! get it?

and let's see if you won't be moaning yourself when you need health care and your only option will be an expensive private hospital as the NHS is heading towards the danger zone of privatisation.

sometimes people like you make me worry

Prvatise the NHS

The NHS is entirely funded by private money. All the government run services are. Money made by private firms and private employees is used to fund every last thing that government services provide. The problem with the NHS and other services run on tax cash is that state employees decide how to administer the spending of this money, and by and large they haven't got a clue how to do this efficiently. The NHS is by far the worst managed employer I have ever worked for, and the amount of money wasted as a result must be huge. Even simple things, like control of punctuality and sickness levels are completely mismanaged or just ignored.

I can understand employees of any organisation, private or public, inefficient or efficient, being worried about their jobs, but the NHS is not primarily a provider of jobs. First and foremost it is supposed to be a health service to the public, but many in the NHS don't seem to realise this, hence the poor value for money the NHS represents for many paying customers. Last year The Healthcare Commission said 'the health service could often seem to be designed around the needs of the staff rather than the patients'. How true.

By the way, the turnout at the demo was pathetic.
