It is reported that some on the anti BNP demo organised by the lancaster UAF at the count for the Lancaster by election had vote Labour placards! Some of the UAF it is reported during the election helped deliver offical labour party leaflets to people's homes.

I don't know who doofer and antifash are but they're both talking shite as they no doubt already know. If anyone on the demo was holding a Vote Labour placard it's probably because they're a member of the Labour Party. Unlike the BNP, UAF has cross-party support and there were people there from - as far as I could tell - Labour, Tory, Green, Lib-Dem and Respect, standing alongside Lancaster anarchists and others who have no party affiliation whatsoever.

The BNP (all 5 of them) were kept completely separate from the antis (40 of those) by the police, nobody was 'offed' by anybody, except the BNP candidate, Chris Hill, who was offed by the voters.

Perhaps the BNP supporters who persist in posting lies on Indymedia and other places should consider reading something other than the self-obsessed BNP site, the Sun and the Stormfront forum. Maybe then they'd be able to tell reality from fantasy. Try the Lancaster UAF blog - at least it tells the truth...

'Skerton West by-election result - BNP come last

Forty people, complete with placards and leaflets, came along and demonstrated against the British National Party outside the by-election count at Ryelands School last night. The local vicar joined us at one point and said that while it was bad that the BNP had stood in the ward it was good that Lancaster UAF and our supporters had leafletted against them. Many drivers passing the demonstration, once realising who we were, took leaflets or blew their horns as a sign of support. Very encouraging, although one of them got told off by the plods for blocking traffic.

Chris Hill, the BNP candidate, had only four supporters with him, unless a couple were hiding somewhere. Hill keeps good company. One of his little entourage was Bradford BNP councillor, Paul Cromie, currently being investigated in a vote-buying scandal, while another was well-known Combat 18 thug and stunningly useless BNP councillor for Calderdale, Adrian Marsden, former bodyguard to BNP leader Nick Griffin during the January court case in Leeds.

Hill's little gang accompanied him into the count so there were no pro-BNP demonstrators outside. When the BNP left the count after the result, demonstrators waving placards and shouting anti-nazi slogans crowded round both sides of the school gate to wave goodbye - hopefully forever.

Despite numerous leaflets, almost continual canvassing and being out on the day with the traditional loudspeaker, Hill only managed third place.

Well, no. Not exactly. Twat. No-one has admitted anything of the sort. Yeah, UAF has people from many different affiliations as well as people from no affiliation all uniting against fascism. Yes, that includes people from the laobur party just as it includes people from many other parties and indeed anarchists from no party.

What's so surprising anyway about anarchists working alongside other people. Since when have anarchists had to keep themselves strictly to themselves.

I know it's easy to dismiss people who believe in mainstream politics as scum. I certainly find it hard to stomach the 3 main parties.
