Mona Media in partnership with The Lord Mayor’s Earthquake appeal are delighted to announce an exclusive performance of ‘Deep in the Frozen Night’ at the Theatre Royal Nottingham – for one night only on Tuesday, July the 18th at 7.00 pm.
Once again Mona Media have mobilised raw local talent to bring you a play inspired by and dedicated to the millions of victims in the Pakistan earthquake.
‘Shani, a 17-year old from Sneinton finds herself in the middle of a turf battle and is catapulted from obscure teenager to potential urban queen. To secure this title and defend her patch Shani must travel far but Shani is soon embroiled in a very different kind of turf war as her life becomes linked with virtual strangers in a refugee campsite somewhere in remote Kashmir. Funny and witty this is a heart rending tale of four women’s journey to the truth’.
‘Ultimately this is a story about the human spirit. I came away uplifted. I know I will wait a few more years before I see anything as fresh and instinctive again’ Mark Nightingale – drama practitioner.
Please come and support the Lord Mayors Earthquake Appeal and the development of Nottingham’s first Asian Theatre Company.
