Deaths in Custody: Pickett the IPPC Mon 19th 1:30pm !!!

Death in Police custody families gather to demand justice. A picket of the IPCC has been called to show solidarity. Monday 19th June 2006, 1.30 - 3.15pm @ IPCC, 90 High Holborn, London WC1V 6BH
All supporters are welcome!



The Independent Police Complaints Commission is responsible for overseeing investigations into deaths in police custody. Many of the
families of the victims are dissatisfied with the current performance of the IPCC. A delegation of families will be attending the IPCC on
Monday 19th June between 2.00 - 3.00pm to raise their concerns.

A picket of the IPCC has been called 1.30 to show solidarity with these families. The picket has been called by the United Families &
Friends Campaign, the national coalition of death in custody family campaigns. All supporters are welcome.

IPCC is not working

The IPCC, let us not forget, is also *supposed* to be investigating the killing by police of Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell and the recent shooting of Abdul Kahar in the bungled police "raid" (250 officers!) at Forest Gate.

It is now nearly a year since de Menezes was killed and we, the people, still don't have the facts. Ask Nick Hardwick, head of the IPCC, what's going on!
