The Countryside Alliance’s 2006 AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Countryside Alliance was held at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Westminster on Tuesday 13th June. At the event, the annual awards were handed out to several deserving recipients who regularly go above and beyond the call of duty for the countryside and the Countryside Alliance. The three main awards are detailed below,
The Goodson Wickes Award: awarded to Alexia Robinson for being the driving force behind the Alliance’s phenomenally successful Game to Eat campaign.
The Beaufort Award: shared between Sarah Holman, who has organised the Countryside Race Day at Cheltenham since 1977, and Anthony Marsden, who has been the South East Regional Recruiter for the BFSS/ Countryside Alliance since 1986
The Welchman Award: shared between Ann Chaffers, who joined the BFSS in the 1940s and has been a tireless worker for hunting, and Les Webber, who founded Angling Projects 30 years ago and continues to give disadvantaged children free access to angling.
