Global Responses to Global Threats

Chris Abbott, Paul Rogers and John Sloboda | 12.06.2006 14:43 | Anti-militarism | Ecology | Social Struggles | Oxford | South Coast

A new report from Oxford Research Group examining the various threats to global security, and sustainable responses to those threats.

It is our pleasure to anounce the publication of our latest report, "Global Responses to Global Threats: Sustainable Security for the 21st Century", published on Monday 12 June.

The report, written by Chris Abbott, Paul Rogers and John Sloboda, is the result of an 18-month long research project examining the various threats to global security, and sustainable responses to those threats.

Lord Garden, the Liberal Democrat spokesperson on defence in the House of Lords, said that the report offers “a compelling starting point for policy-makers”, and Commander Robert Green of the New Zealand Peace Foundation called it “an overdue gust of wise analysis and well-reasoned argument”.

I hope that you will find the report of interest.

usual far-right demonisation of muslims disguised as 'liberal' comment

A very, very, very nasty piece of fascist propaganda poorly disguised as a 'Guardian-style' (Blair's main pro-war, anti muslim newspaper) 'liberal' 'green' report. I am reminded so very much of the sophisticated (as opposed to the crude racist stuff) nazi propaganda that so powerfully served Hitler.

For those of you unskilled in unravelling BLACK PROPAGANDA, note the 'assumptions' that the document presents as 'facts', and test how many of these assumptions exactly match those that Blair's mass media and Blair himself insists that you accept as true.

The front page is careful to show a 'dark-skinned' child with a gun (think of the message they wish you to take), whereas the picture of the flying 'murder machine' could easily have come from the propaganda movie 'Top Gun'. There are, of course, NONE of those photos that graphically illustrate the tens of thousands of examples of child murder that Blair is responsible for in Afghanistan and Iraq. As I have explained on many occasions, Blair's New Reich supporters can easily be identified by their aversion to showing pictures of the kids murdered by Blair.

The pushing of 'green issues' matches the identical distraction methods used by the nazis to 'soak up' the dangerous energies of the young (why do you think that nazi youth movements in pre-WW2 Germany are associated with healthy young people appreciating the planet in various non-urban outdoor pursuits?).

The greatest purpose of the paper, however, is the usual demonisation of muslims. People outraged at the GENOCIDE of Fallujah are described by the paper as 'Islamic militants'. The words WARCRIME and CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY are, of course, nowhere to be found. The 'white' french people were allowed to have their (mostly non-existant) battle against nazis called a 'resistance'. The vastly braver fight by (dark-skinned) Iraq citizens against Blair's forces of invasion (an act of AGGRESSIVE WARFARE descibed by the Nuremberg war crimes trials as the ULTIMATE CRIME) are slandered by the paper as 'jihadists'.

Of course, the paper uses the HOLOCAUST DENIAL method of counting the Iraq dead when it quotes the IBC figure of 40,000. No suprise there.

The focus on 'genetic weapons' may puzzle some of you, foolish enough to think this represents an attack on such weapons held and researched by Israel, US, UK, Germany etc. However, this focus is simple building another 'meme', a mind idea that can be used as an excuse to attack nations like Iran. Remember, Iraq was attacked by nations armed to the teeth with nukes on the pretext that Iraq might have had the nuke equivalent to a pea-shooter. It is rather like a rapist preparing to rape again by accusing his victim-to-be of crimes that in reality he is guilty of.

The people that lied thousands of times about Iraq (and more recently over the underground shooting and the 'chemical jacket' raid) are the SAME people behind the 'official' story of 911, and this 'official' story is the one the paper accepts without challenge. Again, no suprise. The 'analysis' offered by the paper constantly says "you know these people that have been caught lying over and over and over again- well THESE are the people whose 'facts' form the basis of our argument".

If Hitler had had a widespread TV network, HE would have flooded the networks with a tenth rate has-been 'comedian' telling people to recycle their newspapers. Why? Because the LAST thing Hitler wanted his people doing is using their minds to question the CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY that he was tooling up for. Official 'green' politics as practiced by this paper is the propaganda of distraction, buying time for Blair's future wars, and labelling the 'dark-skinned' part of the world that Blair intends to butcher as inferior through a myriad of unsubtle inferences.

I urge all Indymedia readers to please ignore the previous comment and read the report. The comments in the previous posting could not be further from the truth. Please judge it on your own reading, not that of others who have obviously misunderstood. Many thanks.
