Fundamental principles of the American republic have been thrown overboard by Spygate (the current spying scandal of the Bush administration). The US government spied on all the people without any judicial control. This is the presumption of different observers. Many are increasingly surprised at the gentle approach of the democratic opposition at a time when the majority of Americans are for an impeachment of the president.

The Bush administration is suspected of manipulating the elections in 2000 in Florida and also in 2004 in Florida and Ohio. The reports continue about hacked electronic voting machines on the eve of the coming Congressional elections.

In his first article in 2006, Paul Craig Roberts described the Bush administration as a “criminal administration.” Roberts is a seasoned republican, a former member of the Reagan administration, not some leftist hothead.

The Bush administration crossed the Rubicon according to Roberts when Bush set himself above the law in the course of the bugging scandal. Instead of ending unconstitutional bugging practices, informants are criminalized and journalists are questioned and pressured by the Department of Justice. Robert writes:
„Compared to Spygate, Watergate was a kindergarten picnic. The Bush administration’s lies, felonies, and illegalities have revealed it to be a criminal administration with a police state mentality and police state methods. Now Bush and his attorney general have gone the final step and declared Bush to be above the law. Bush aggressively mimics Hitler’s claim that defense of the realm entitles him to ignore the rule of law.“
According to Roberts, Watergate compared to Spygate was a kindergarten picnic. For Roberts, the American government is a criminal association with a police-state mentality and police-state methods. Now Bush with his conduct declares himself above the law. Roberts asks:
„What will the federal courts do? When Hitler challenged the German judicial system, it collapsed and accepted that Hitler was the law. Hitler’s claims were based on nothing but his claims, just as the claim for extra-legal power for Bush is based on nothing but memos written by his political appointees.“
What will the Supreme Court do? Will it collapse in view of the executive power as the German courts did under the Nazis? Or will the Supreme Court prosecute Bush for violating basic rights of the American constitution, the most pernicious crimes?

In March 2006, Roberts put more coal on the fire when he asked: Will there be a second September 11? Roberts explained in detail why he believes the Bush administration despite all logic holds to an Iran attack. He concluded that Bush needs a terrorist attack that is quickly blamed on Islamic forces or Iran to justify that kind of adventure.
„Readers, whose thinking runs ahead of that of most of us, tell me that another 9/11 event will prepare the ground for a nuclear attack on Iran. Some readers say that Bush, or Israel as in Israel’s highly provocative attack on the Jericho jail and kidnapping of prisoners with American complicity, will provoke a second attack on the US. Others say that Bush or the neoconservatives working with some "black ops" group will orchestrate the attack.“
In February 2006, the American Congress passed a law reintroducing conscription.
The new book by Wolfgang Eggert “First Manhattan-Then Berlin” points in the same direction. For years, Eggert has focused on the influence of religious sects on politics and the secret service. September 11, 2001 and the London train bombs were botched-up jobs of this elite-based clique, according to Eggert. There will be at least one more attack in the heart of Europe.

According to Eggert, different messianic circles are working on an Armageddon in the Middle East and an attack on Iran is only the next step. A dramatic trigger is necessary to that end.

A terrorist attack at the World Cup in Germany would offer an ingenious pretext for the imminent attack on Iran. Germany would be drawn into the general war fray and worldwide solidarity endangered. Up to now Germany has been restrained in the Iraq war. As with 9/11, many of the victims will be from different countries. For the war-mongerers, this can be marketed optimally in the national media.

Now the former CIA-insider and former presidential advisor Ray McGovern warns of that scenario:
„Former CIA analyst and Presidential advisor Ray McGovern (...) fears that staged terror attacks across Europe and the US are probable in order to justify the Bush administration's plan to launch a military strike against Iran, which he thinks will take place in June or July.“
McGovern emphasizes that three US-aircraft carriers are stationed in the region. There is also a French carrier. In June 2006, there will be a NATO-exercise in the Black Sea with an Israeli naval formation for the first time.
The cannon boats are in place. Only the all-decisive trigger is lacking.

Wolfgang Eggert gives us a checklist for predicting such a terrorist attack. Perhaps this list can help prevent an attack and create awareness for the backgrounds of this attack.
If someone could put a terror seismograph in a political discussion forum, many would cooperate in preventing a new 9/11.
