Straw bale building at ecoworks – hungerhill allotments, st annes, Nottingham
24th June – 2nd July
During this week, we will be raising the bale walls, and rendering them with lime plaster. This is a great chance to try out these exciting green construction techniques, and help create a fantastic building for Ecoworks! Everyone is welcome – you don’t need any previous building experience.

A more detailed schedule....

1st Weekend 24/25th June) - We will be mixing lime plaster and rendering the back bale wall of the structure (which was built last summer) with the first coat.
Mon-thurs - Render other bale areas built last summer, and apply a second coat of limeon those and the back wall. Meanwhile, finish carpentry for new part of building.
2nd weekend (30 June-2 July) - Raise bales on new part of building! More render on "old" walls too if needed.
bear in mind this is a very rough schedule, subject to change due to the vagaries of the weather and the builders! it gives a rough guide though....hope to see you there!
