The students marched through the centre of the city and at one point the police tried to brake up the demonstration using teargas. Various people were blocked in by police and beaten. A small number of people has been arrested. The demonstration then entered the grounds of the Politecnik University and riots continued throughout the day. In the evening a demonstration of a bout 1000 people went to the central police station in support of the people that were arrested.
