Gun Violence in America

Firearm homicide was the number one cause of death for American Black men ages 15-34 and the leading cause of death for all Black Americans 15-24 year olds.

Every two years more Americans die from firearm injuries than the total number of American soldiers killed during the 8-year Vietnam War.

Worst Gun Massacre Occured in the UK

04.06.2006 00:14

Hmmmm, how is it that one of the worst gun massacres in history (dunblane) occured in the UK a country with the most strict gun laws in the world ?

Perhaps because people kill people not guns. If we outlaw steak knives would all the stabbings in the UK stop ?

irony man

No but the animal rights lobby might be pleased.
Obviously it is the ease of killing that guns offer. not necessary to get close and bloody.

hand guns = death

The only irony of the previous comment is that it was exactly the horrendous Dunblane massacre of 1996 that caused the UK to ban handguns in the following year (1997).

The UK's strict gun laws were passed not only after but because of the massacre.

In the Dunblane massacre, 16 children and their teacher were killed (30 other students wounded).

In the US, more than 5,000 children under the age of 5 years old are killed by guns EVERY YEAR.
(not to mention the tens of thousands who are horribly wounded).
