Women in Black Vigil on June 3rd

Pam Parsons | 31.05.2006 20:52 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Oxford

A Women in Black vigil will be held on Saturday June 3rd from 2-3pm in Bonn Square, Queen Street, Central Oxford in memory of the Palestinians killed last week in central Ramallah by the Israeli army. Please join us. Wear Black. This will be a silent vigil.

We will be holding a vigil for Palestinians killed by the Israeli army last Wednesday in central Ramallah. Amongst those killed was a brother of Mohammad Atallah. Mohammad is one of the children from Al Amari Refugee Camp in Ramallah who came to Oxford for two weeks last summer with 7 other children, hosted by the Oxford Ramallah Friendship Association.
We have all been particularly affected by this news and have arranged the vigil both to remember this young man as well as draw attention to the impunity with which Israeli soldiers kill Palestinians on a weekly, or often a daily basis. Please support us in drawing attention to this latest Israeli atrocity, which went almost completely unreported in our British media. Men as well as women are welcome to help with this action.
