A Liverpool doctor held a protest in the city's Derby Square yesterday. to show why she would rather break the law than fund Blair's adventure in Iraq.

Lis Davidson - a GP at Princes Park Health Centre in south Liverpool, revealed that she has refused to pay the Inland Revenue £2,666. She is amongst a growing number of people who are illegally witholding 10% of their tax bill, claiming that s against their human rights to be forced into paying for a war they disagree with.

"As a GP I have an ethic that says I shouldn't go around killing people and so why should I be forced to fund this activity that I disagree with", she claimed.

Lis handed out leaflets with her co-campaigner Sian Cwper. They both support the Peace Tax Seven group, who want to take the Government to the European Court of Human Rights.

"In Liverpool, they don't threaten to jail you, they just send the bailiffs.", Lis added.

"So I can't become a sacrificial prisoner, although I am going to withhold the interest they say I owe and I am willing to go to court to defend that decision."
