IMC Monitoring Team - April Report

Welcome to this month’s report from the IMC Monitoring Team.

Welcome to this month’s report from the IMC Monitoring Team.

After a brief period some months ago when Indymedia UK was for a wonderful, inspiring period free of the vice like grip of its (unelected) Editorial and Censorship Board we are sad to report that the site has once again returned to its policy of routinely removing vast numbers of posts and comments as well as frequently editing comments to alter their meaning. The so called ‘Hidden’ page in reality represents now less than 23% of the true number of removed posts.

The small clique who have grabbed control of the site through a policy of deleting password access to those who they disagree with continue to attempt to create a bastardised version of the true IMC UK as it was imagined by the founders.

The small group includes a former SWP infiltrator who many suspected was on a government payroll at university so the tactics are hardly surprising !

The IMC Monitoring Team has recently completed an upgrade of its server and can now offer a full search facility for those persons seeking to find documents, comments and posts on Indymedia UK that have been removed or deleted by the Editorial Team. In addition we now offer the opportunity to comment on Posts with a firm 100% guarantee of NO deleting or editing. We would like to thank those individuals who have offered money to support our work but we prefer not to ask for or accept funding, the team here in Bristol is doing this as part of a larger project to show how Left of Centre media is routinely infiltrated and controlled by the State often without the knowledge of the majority of those involved and we do not need more money.

The results for the last period of monitoring (April 2006) show 125 posts were removed, 598 comments to posts were removed and 83 comments or posts were edited. As in previous months one individual is responsible for the majority of the editing.
