Iran says nuclear right 'irreversible', rejects EU plan

Various | 16.05.2006 18:19 | Anti-militarism | World

What the nuclear-rich Europeans have to understand, like the Russians and Chinese, is that this is not a "nuclear issue/crisis", but merely an effort by the Extremist Regime in the US to feign a justification for a war they've had planned for years now.

It's a matter of Aggression, period. Nothing in the world can legitimize an invasion and subsequent occupation they see as "inevitable".

It should be pointed out that every relevant, credible body affirms that Iran is well within its rights under the NPT. The EU needs to stop playing the US/PNAC game, and start dealing with reality.

Iran says nuclear right 'irreversible', rejects EU plan

TEHRAN: Iran, on Tuesday, rejected a new package of trade and technical incentives which the European Union (EU) plans to present Tehran to persuade the Islamic state to suspend its nuclear enrichment process.

Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi reiterated on state television that the only way to achieve a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the nuclear dispute would be acknowledgment of Iran's nuclear rights in line with the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Assefi was directly referring to the latest European offer which EU foreign and security policy chief Javier Solana on Monday termed as an "exceptional" package of incentives which would allow Iran to produce nuclear energy for civilian and electricity purposes.

In return, Iran was obliged to stop all uranium enrichment activities and create a climate of confidence around its nuclear programme, Solana said.

"For three years of intensive talks with the EU, Iran has numerously clarified its will to produce nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes," Assefi said.

The spokesman wondered why Solana still doubted Iran's seriousness in realising its rights as NPT signatory and "made such irresponsible remarks".

"We do not want anything beyond the NPT and not accept any international resolution beyond our rights as NPT signatory. Iran's decision to pursue this internationally acknowledged right is definite and irreversible," the spokesman stressed.

Lobbying on Iran, groups strive to play down the Jewish angle
By Chanan Tigay

NEW YORK, May 10 (JTA) — With concern mounting over Iran’s atomic ambitions, the American Jewish community is lobbying intensively to ensure that the threat is taken seriously by the United States, the media and the world.

Actually, they're trying quite hard to play UP the "Jewish" angle, since these are primrarily ZIONIST organizations, which represent Zionist/Israeli concerns, and have little understanding (or care) of what the wider Jewish community wants or needs.

In recent years, most of the "Jewish" organizations that were not already fronts for Israel/Zionism have had their popularly-elected Boards pushed out, and replaced by Zionist "Emergency Cabinets", to deal with increasing criticism of the Zionist State.

This has been mentioned briefly by the mass media, but its importance has been ignored entirely.

Zionist groups are the ONLY ones pushing for war with Iran.
