REPRESSION IN CIUDAD JUAREZ

Kasa de Kultura para Tod@s | 13.05.2006 03:56 | Repression | Social Struggles | Zapatista

Today May 11 2006 violence and impunity repeated themselves, but this time in our space, 15 minutes after a comrade left the Kasa, approximately at 5:00 am, a couple of strangers forcibly entered our space. These individuals were also hooded and we believe that one of them participated in the previous kidnapping.

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. May 11 2006

To the peoples of Mexico and of the world.
To the organizations, collectives and individuals.
To the adherents of the other campaign.
To the sixth commission .

Today we are all Atenco but also the repression, the kidnapping, the indignation and the rage, and so we are the resistance against the torturers who betray and sell their people

In February 2006 a member of the community and physical space of the KAZA DE KULTURA PARA TOD@s (KKPT/House of Culture for Everyone) of Cd Juárez Chihuahua Mexico was kidnapped and tortured by hooded persons, who broke into the comrade's home and subjected her to extreme violence while brandishing high caliber weapons, after which they made her get into a brand new SUV. "Where are the weapons?" was one of many questions that were made, immediately followed by blows, before taking her to a place where the terror continued. Later they released her after giving her a pill that caused drowsiness.

The K.K.P.T.collective decided not to denounce the incident to the official authorities, since we believe that the accusation is a joke that the institutions use against the people. We continue participating in actions and carrying out activities like those against the IV world water forum, as well as participating in the other campaign and the activities that we carry out in the K.K.P.T.

The space was completely turned over, they stole a laptop computer, emptied out all the paint tins in our workshop, destroyed several fanzine publications, and they constantly threatened one of our women comrades who was still in the Kasa with high caliber weapons. They insisted in knowing the whereabouts of one of our comrades and when she refused to give this information, they kidnapped her, and put her in a black car (recent model) in which they kept her against her will for a lapse of 6 hours.

Today we call for self-organization, today we appeal for reason, we believe that if the denunciation is only contained in a document there will never be a solution. The federal government with only a few more months to go before it is replaced, is attacking the groups and organizations that dare to stand up and organize against the injustices that the governments cause, this government that revives the time of the Seventies, betting on terror. Today we remember the extreme rightist groups hidden away in the ranks of the ruling National Action Party which "disappeared" and attacked the rebel movements, today we are not far from that reality again and our commitment is to be organized and to fight against its power.
Today we don't have anything to lose except our dignity, today here we are and we say to the diverse organizations that we will support them and to the insurgents we request that the red alert of the EZLN becomes national.

Not even one step back.
