Camp Bling

Just got home after a weeks stay at Camp Bling, Englands one and only road protest camp (Have they really stopped building new roads?) Which is situated on the A127/A1159 in Priory crescent Southend
The campaign started about 5 years ago and despite local opposition and a petition containing more than 20,000 signatures the conservative council decided to push ahead with the plans for the 870 metre dual carriageway that will cause the felling of many trees in Priory park and the loss of the cycle path all to save car drivers an estimated 170 seconds, whilst at a cost of £21,500,000, that’s £24,712 per metre it would have been cheaper to have paved the whole bloody thing in gold!!!
The site itself contains the remains of king Sabert the 7th . century Saxon king of Essex who’s grave contained so many items of gold and glass the mainstream media nicknamed him “The King of Bling”. The site was occupied about 7 months ago and the dozen or so people there have built a nice communal area, visitors centre, a couple of benders, tree houses and a few cabins, one complete with lookout tower. There is also a fenced off area that contains the king’s grave and recently self styled King Arthur Pendragon visited and laid a curse on anyone who disturbs the kings remains, okay hippy bollocks I know, but a short time later Council leader Mayor Anna Waites lost her seat dramatically in local elections, and the poor distraught woman will now be forced to get a proper job. So its hippy bollocks 1 Tory shit 0 !!!
The people on site are all from the area and most have day jobs so, would welcome people to stay and ease their workloads. As there is no digging on site (taking no chance with the curse not that I believe or anything ) but we have an allotment 5min away that I’ve been helping on and I’ve also been cursing slugs and snails myself BASTARDS!!
Loads of the locals have been very supportive and apart from some car drivers “get a job” If I got a job I’d save up and buy you a life tossers! Things are pretty good but donations help and messages of support are always appreciated. So keep up the good work Blingers I for one will be back soon.
