The UK House of Commons Crossrail Bill' seeks powers to be given to the Government to spend several hundred million pounds of public money to destroy the Whitechapel area under the pretext of building an unnecessary CrossRail station at the present Whitechapel station. It will cause unwanted losses and damage the environment and will end up dislocating people and ruining businesses and homes. Khoodeelaar! the camapgn against the CrossRail hole plan on Brick Lane London E1 area has today launched a new wing of the campaign to stop a CrossRail station at Whitechapel.

Khoodeelaar! launches No Crossrail station at Whitechapel campaign

Khoodeelaar! the camapgn against CrossRail hole in the Brick Lane London E1 area has today decided to mount a No to a CrossRail station at Whitechapel camapgn.

The two wings of the Khoodeelaar! Camapgn will be run jointly with the necessary updates

In statement issued this evening, Khoodeelaar! No to CrossRail station at Whitechapel organiser Muhammad Haque said, “There is no economic reason for a Crossrail; station at Whitechapel. There is no social reason, there is no environmental justification fro a CrossRail station here.

We have a Whitechapel station that is due for thorough repair works. If done intelligently, those repairs would save the economy a several hundred million pounds a great deal of disruption.

this community does not need the added CrossRail disruption and we are formally demanding that transport Secretary Alistair Darling scarp the plan from the Crossrail Bill now in the UK Hosue of Commons.”
