On Monday 8 May 10am, High Court on the Strand.
Join us outside and then in court. Bring banners & placards for outside.
Brian Haw’s almost five-year-old demonstration has been exempt so far from the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA). As you know Brian won his right in the High Court to continue protesting but last month the Home Office and the Met Police appealed against this decision. The result of this appeal will be heard this Monday and it would be good to have a good crowd at the court to make clear how much support Brian has and how strongly we all feel about his right to be there.
Other cases are waiting the outcome of this case including the Wednesday Anti-War Picket & Open Mic coordinated by GWS, which has applied for a Judicial Review to test our and anybody else's legal right to join Brian's demonstration.
If Brian loses, his solicitor will appeal to the House of Lords and ask that he be left alone until the process is concluded. But eviction proceedings may take place immediately, in this event we will need to contact you again for your help in filling the Square.
We continue to visit and bring food to Brian every Wednesday in Parliament Square between 5.30-7pm. you are most welcome to join us.

PS Good news: on 6 April at Southwark Crown Court, Maria Gallastegui, Brian’s right-hand supporter, won her appeal against her conviction for demonstrating without authorisation and obstructing arrest. The police did not produce any evidence and the judge dismissed the case!
