The British National Party is fielding candidates in the local elections for Bitterne in Southampton. Local anti-fascist camapigners are mobilising against the fascist threat and are asking for volunteers to join in.

When they stood in Bitterne in 2004 they polled a worrying 11.2% of the vote. The BNP is a Nazi organisation, whose leader Nick Griffin has been convicted of inciting racial hatred after a magazine he published denied the reality of the Holocaust.

Unite Against Fascism is planning a leafletting campaign in the area. Assemble at the Eastpoint Centre in Bitterne on Tuesday 2 May at 6.30pm. Follow the link below for a map.

WHY BE SO WORRIED

27.04.2006 00:52

ID RATHER SEE RACISM OUT IN THE OPEN THAN HIDDEN - THEN IT CAN BE SUBVERTED - HAVE YOU SEEN CRASH (THE FILM)?

I WOULD NOT RELY ON ANY PARTY.

SO BELIEVING THEY (BNP) WILL GET MORE VOTES DOESNT WORRY ME AS THEY WILL NEVER REPRESENT ME.

I WORRY THAT ANTI-FASCISTS COULD BE AS, OR MORE OFFENSIVE AS FASCISTS (WHY ALL THESE LABELS) - THERE IS SO MUCH COUNTER FASCISM HATRED ABOUT, THAT IT ALMOST BOULSTERS UP THE VERY PEOPLE WE WOULD RATHER NOT SEE IN POSITIONS OF POWER.

LET THEM BE, OPPOSE THEM BY THWARTING THEIR POLICIES, BY CARING ABOUT THE OSTRACISED, THE DISENFRANCHISED AND HOMELESS UNDERCLASS.

SUBVERT BY OPENING YOUR HOME TO ASYLUM APPLICANTS AND BE THEIR FRIENDS.
