There's an announcements list you can subscribe to off the front page.
The camp is from 26th August-4th September, in north England, and will be near places that create climate chaos - the aims can be read at
http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/whoweare.htm, but broadly we hope that we'll all overcome feelings of isolation and helplessness by creating a
community of resistance. We hope the camp inspires people to take action, share ideas and beyond the camp, make a start in their own localities and spheres of interest.
The workshops and activities group is requesting workshops, including
action-related training - the offer form is linked off
http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/workshops.htm
They are also looking for people who can entertain us in the evenings at
the camp. If you know any stand-ups, musicians, dance teachers, yoga
teachers, caberet types or poets etc etc - please could you persuade them to offer their services. Any offers or contacts should be sent to us -
contact details on above workshops web page.
The fundraising group is asking for loans, which will be repaid through
grants and donations before and at the gate during the camp. See
http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/fundraising.htm
Site practicalities have a wishlist, and are also asking anyone who knows they'll be bringing transport to get in touch with them -
http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/sitepracticalities.htm
There's lots of exciting stuff to get involved with in the run-up to the
camp, and the more people and ideas the more astounding the camp will be.
Do check out the website, http://climatecamp.org.uk, and get in touch
directly with working groups, or if you're not sure where you'll be most
at home, try info AT climatecamp.org.uk
