Some photos from the Sharrow Lantern Carnival held in Sheffield last weekend, 17 April 2006 after being postponed for two weekends due to bad weather.
This was the 3rd annual lantern carnival, the first one was held on the 1st anniversary of the start of the war against Iraq, more info on the Creative Action Network site, http://www.creativeaction.net/

Most impressive. Over 400 people turned out for the procession and about the same number onlooking, passers by and outside the pubs.
Good entertainment in the park afterwards too, although some of it could have been more clearly marked for newcomers and latecomers, but THANKS and WELL DONE.
A lot of people have obviously put in a LOT of effort and hard work for this wonderful show.
