The Medway Trades Union Council (MTUC) will be holding a celebration on May the 1st this event will celebrate the enormous part the movement has played in the improvement of working conditions today, from health and safety to pay, conditions and representation, the trade union movement makes a significant footprint in our society of today. These celebrations will take place from midday and include speeches from regionaly based activists, as well as a trade union speaker from the Coventry car works plant (invited yet to be confirmed).
This event is particularly exciting for trade union activists in the Medway towns as it also celebrates the formation of the Medway TUC in September 2005, after a 20 year absence, an organisation that brings together trade unionists from all unions (including the NUJ) and industries placing trade union activity within the community and for the community.
