World Day for Lab Animals - Oxford, 22nd April

This is a final reminder about the SPEAK demonstration on World Day for Laboratory Animals. It’s vitally important that everyone who wants to see an end to vivisection comes to Oxford on the 22nd April to add their voice and speak out for the animals.

We are close to reaching yet another milestone on the road to victory; almost 6 months have passed since Oxford University announced that work had restarted on the animal research laboratory yet, apart from increasing security at the site, there has been no further work on the lab itself
-
that’s another six months in which animals have been spared torture and death at the hands of Oxford vivisectors.

There can surely be little doubt that Oxford University are once again in trouble, but we at SPEAK are not interested in just delaying the building project - we want to stop it permanently. To do this we need your help and support in Oxford on the 22nd April. We must all remember that the SPEAK campaign isn’t just about stopping one laboratory; it goes a lot further than that: if we can stop Oxford University realising the expansion of their vivisection capabilities in constructing this new animal torture centre, the implications and knock-on affect for other building projects
nationwide could be enormous! In fact, it could spell the beginning of the end of vivisection. The stakes are that high – we should make no mistake about that.

The Labour Government realise just how important this project is and reports have indicated that they have pledged £100 million of public (your) money to ensure the project gets finished. Despite this and what we have ourselves described as a 'David & Goliath' struggle we are winning this battle. Oxford University with the help of the Government have attempted every dirty trick in the book in order to discredit us; however the support we receive from the public is at an all time high - we are winning this battle and just as importantly we are winning the arguments against vivisection.

So where will you be on the 22nd April? SPEAK hopes you will be with us in Oxford, SPEAKING out for all the animals, making a difference and more importantly making history!
