PEAK GAS... Forget about peak oil, in this country and around the world there is a global gas crisis. What are the alternatives?

ARTISTS ATTEMPT WORLD BAKED BEAN EATING RECORD 2006

In an extraordinary art exhibition artist Mark McGowan will be competing with two other artists in an attempt to break the world baked bean eating record. They will be eating 24 large sized cans of Heinz Baked Beans, that works out at 10 kilos or 22lbs of baked beans an absolutely explosive amount. The three contestants are Mark McGowan, Japans Katsonobu the corking man and Simon the hoover Ould, who recently won the 15 Mars Bars eating competition.

The exhibition is to take place on Thursday 20th April 2006 at Project 133, CIP house, Rye lane, opposite Peckham Rye Train station. SE15. and starts at 8pm, the group exhibition is called The mouse that roared.

Competitors have 30mins to eat the 24 large sized cans of baked beans, in a race against the clock and against each other.

24 cans of Heinz Baked Beans seems an impossible target, the world record speed eating baked beans is 2mins for 10 cans.
This event is hoping to highlight/raise awareness about the global gas crisis, which is particularly bad in England where gas prices have quadrupled in recent times. We are at a stage now being called PEAK GAS.
