The SWP are the "brains" behind the RESPECT coalition.

The SWP (under the guise of Respect) will be standing in various areas in England in the May local elections. Most of these areas are in London and/or have very large Muslim populations.

It is imperative that all progressive people resist the temptation to vote for these obnoxious people.

The impetus behind Respect was to get George Galloway back into Parliament, which they surprisingly achieved by
their cherry-picking the most populous Muslim constituency in the UK - Bethnal Green and Bow.

The SWP have an awful reputation in left-wing circles (for anyone none the wiser) as being arrogant, sectarian, idiotic, authoritarian wankers.

They now hope to foist themselves on the unsuspecting British public under the mask of Respect!

Don't let it happen!

You must have woken up this morning with a blank and boring day ahead of you and thought "Ah well,got nothing to do,nowhere to go ,noone to meet and I cant be bothered to go and feed a the ducks in the park. What can I do?I know I 'll go and write some rubbish on Indymedia .

RESPECT attracts supports from the most oppressed group in the UK and Uncle Joe claims that this is wrong.

Anyway, RESPECT is likely to do well in areas where whites and Black African/Carribean make up the majority of the poplulation, for instance, in Lambeth there are RESPECT candidates standing and the signs so far suggest that RESPECT will do well and are likely to win, this is no surprise given New Labours betrayal of working class people as a whole.

Why do leftist like Uncle Joe have a blanket disregard for religion, it was never part of the socialist tradition-the Bolsheviks reached out to progressive Muslims to fight Tsarism and western imperialism.

I will make a prediction, RESPECT will win over 90 Councillors in May.

How can anyone who call themselves a socialist have anything to do with this party. I know there are decent people in respect but they have a leader who has multiple homes in the UK and the med, this is when people are sleeping in the streets, why does he need so many homes and act like a flithy captialist parading his wealth for all to see. The man is driven by money and once he has finished with respect he will no doubt retire to a mansion in the med, how can people have anything to do with this leech. And what about gay rights respect are very quiet about this, we all know why this is, so as not to offend Muslims who have a problem with gay people and would out law people for just being gay, why is gay and lesbian and tran gender rights not at the forefront of their campaign like any good socialist movement would have. Why are they concertrating their efforts in Muslim areas, socialism is suppose to appeal to everyone of all races, by racially targeting Muslim areas it gives the impression that respect are only interested in Muslims and so give fuel to racists. This party stinks.

the anti-swp feeling is not something which stems from random trolls with nothing better to do, it stems from people who have equal distrust and dislike for our current government. people who oppose the swp and all their front groups do not do so because they think everyone in the swp should be treated with the same distrust, they do so because they are opposed to any form of hierarchy and thus are opposed to the deceptive and manipulative leadership of the swp. the swp dont seek to bring this system down, instead they want to take control of it and attempt to turn it around to their ideals. what they dont realise is that the classic saying "absolute power corrupts absolutley" rings true for almost every 'alternative' political mindset that has managed to take power rather than building their own system in place of the current one. distrust for the swp also comes from the fact that the leadership and some of the rank and file refuse to accept that their way of protesting is not the only option, demonising other protestors because they see resistance as something more than petitions and a-b's only serves to drive deeper wedges between groups who are already ideoligically opposed.

To Joe, even this bad publicity for the SWP is good publicity in their terms, if you really don't like them and do like anarchy, stop posting about them please, just jump in if someone praises them and then give them the abuse they deserve.
