Closure of Clapham Pool

Please help to fight closure of our swimming pool!

The Lib Dems/Tory council in Lambeth is planning to close both leisure centres in Brixton and in Clapham in order to sell off this prime land to developers. They are refusing to guarantee to build equivalent facilities - leaving ordinary people in an inner city area without decent cheap swimming etc. Please - please follow the link and sign the petition below to save our pools! Labour Party running petition

When I just signed the petition I got a reply from the local Labour Party rep thanking me. I think it would be worth mentioning that this petition is run by the Labour party. Why is this not mentioned by you, Cath?

I am sorry if you feel my post is misleading - when you follow the link to sign the petition - there is info there on the front page under "Background to campaign" on the left hand side. I am not a Labour party member nor have any affilliations to any other political group. But they are the only group I can find that are actively fighting this closure. If anyone has any other info on any other petitions/actions then I would love to hear about it.
