Well, 3 of us (!!) turned up to Selfridge Hotel to harangue arms dealers and shoppers wishing to stick their heads in the sand about the arms trade ( these are after all wars of consumption ). 2 hours of shouting ( no megaphone just a loud gob ) -informing staff, consumers, and passers-by that Selfridges seem quite happy to have scumbags such as Raytheon and EDO MBM meeting to discuss how to make money out of killing civillians en masse. Sheepish faces scuttled across the road with their Selfridges shopping, and a number of cab drivers pulled over to take leaflets. Hotel staff looked embarassed. Who's going to argue? One shopper said it's the drug dealers that are the main problem ( what - with their Israeli made uzis ( Selfridges also support the illegal Israeli occupation by selling their produce ) or their 4x4s. We also didn't see many drug delaers having crack conferences there.Is selling arms for mass murder more respectable. Obviously Rice, Straw,Blair, Hoon and other fascists think so!

A large banner with a picture of a paveway bomb informed people of the 7000 Paveway bombs that were dropped on Iraq and the 100,000+ civillian deaths. We informed anybody who wanted (or didn't want to know in a lot of cases ) that the greedy tossers who manufacture these WDMs were making their sleazy plans inside the hotel. All subsidised by the taxpayer.

It was still worth going down, whatever you think of pickets. Otherwise people ain't going to know.
