Bristol: Bass not Bombs - political PARTY mashup!
Mutual Aid | 23.03.2006 20:53 | Repression | Social Struggles
Sat 25 March sees the finale of a month of funds/awareness raising benefit nights across Bristol, as Bass not Bombs returns for its third epic mashup benefit nite. Let the tribes gather, party, and go forth to resist.
A glimpse at the Bristol Indymedia newswire (see http://bristol.indymedia.org) and calendar for recent weeks shows the depth of feeling across Bristol, and across many related issues, for a society that could be so much freer, just and equal than the present corrupt mess we have to suffer under.
As the super-rich and their corporate machines line up squarely behind the existing LibLabCon status quo, Bristol’s campaigners continue to probe, organise and resist for a post-capitalist world. Be it environmentally sensible transport schemes, safe local food solutions, or the end of warmongering and profits from WMD’s, Bristolians are organizing, meeting, protesting, and putting their bodies on the line and in the road.
Respect is due to the organizers of the 3rd Bass not Bombs night, and to the systems providing the musical mayhem on the night – Dissident, Prank, and Rawdeluxe featuring Dubrovnik.
Funds raised will go to a variety of Bristol’s direct action networks facing legal action from their activities, and to Bristol Housing Action Movement, Columbia Solidarity Campaign, and Bristol Stop the War. There will be info and other surprises on the night.
We have no peerages to sell, and we don’t want the rich's £millions nor patronage, cos we’ve got the numbers – lets mash it up to mash Babylon down.
