“imagine your penis being sliced by razor blades”

THEyelloMATTER | 16.03.2006 18:32

“is this a war on terror or a war on human rights?”

“imagine your penis being sliced by razor blades”

“the dictionary definition of Guantanamo is spelt H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y”

Music is a universal language that we all understand regardless of the language we speak. Unfortunately PAIN is also universal and something that can affect us all, regardless of colour race or creed.

Guantanamo bay is all about PAIN and all about HATRED, we've been conditioned to hate these so called 'terrorists' and conditioned to care little about the lives of foreigners. Thousands are being held worldwide in ghost detention centres whilst over 30, 000 Iraqis have died as a result of the war. We need to get angry about the way our governments abuse other human beings. We need to spread information about this, information that will enrage and pull a united population towards real concrete action against this STATE SPONSORED TERROR.

We all understand Music and through Music we hope you will begin to understand the PAIN of these men, these human beings being held in Guantanamo Bay. FULLeBLUNT have teamed up with Clive Stafford Smith, world renowned Human Rights lawyer, head of the legal team at Reprieve - a Human Rights Organisation that represents innocent people facing the death penalty and innocent men in Guantanamo Bay, to produce a track that will offer the listener an insight into the horrendous atrocities being committed at Gitmo. GUANTANAMERA hopes to educate its listener and hopes they in turn will get enraged, spread the message and get involved in this struggle for Human Rights.

The track also hopes to help publicise the hard work of individuals and organisations in the field of Human Rights. There are some anonymous people out there working tirelessly to shut down the systems that allow for gross violations of basic human rights. Their work is rarely reported on and we need to write and talk about them in order to inspire others to get involved and help them with the immense workload they have to shoulder.

We want as many people as possible to hear the track this is a low quality MP3, if you need a higher quality version, CD version or the radio edit please to not hesitate to contact me. The higher quality version is on www.fulleblunt.com for free download .This is for open distribution - NOT FOR PROFIT - our profit will come when this place is shut down and these men are set free...given justice. Feel free to share, distribute, broadcast GUANTANAMERA as you see fit, play it wherever you can JUST GET IT HEARD. It is a long track but we urge you to listen to it all as it features first hand commentary from Clive Stafford Smith who has dedicated over 20 years of his life to fighting the legal battle for Human Rights.

... and if you haven't got a penis?

17.03.2006 00:27

This is a very daft item. Many of the items on Indymedia are daft but this one wins "Daft Item of the Week" award. It is shot through with foolishness. Here are a few examples -

*How would you manage to imagine your penis being sliced if you were a woman?
(Lots of the readers on Indymedia are women. They don't have penises.)

*"Guantanamo bay is all about PAIN and all about HATRED" No it isn't. It's about the US trying to avoid their duty to give the detainees rights as POWs. See? Quite simple really.

*Clive Stafford Smith is a true British hero for his work against the death penalty in the US. However nobody gets it right all the time and his opposition to Guantanamo is not part of the same battle. The US should have tried the detainees rather than keeping them in this sort of limbo. There are NO Brit citizens left in Gitmo. There are a few 'Residents'. Well that's a bit different isn't it! The detainees who were picked up in Afghanistan and on the Pakistani border have no excuse as far as I can see. What were they doing there?? I am not naive enough to believe that they were just "Visiting Relatives" or "Helping the Poor". It's crap. Most of these people hate us and would dearly love to see us subservient. Give em a trial and lock up the guilty.

Lord Snooty

you've got your bigoted snooty well up...

Old Snooty can't decide if he's a Beano or Viz character. And doesn't gain any endearment from the identity crisis.

Even if the original poster isn't going to win any prizes for elegance, originality or composition, it's poor manners to kick a man for trying.

Anyway, any neurologist will tell you women have a far higher pain threshold than men... and if I wanted to get really Millie Tant about it, I'd point out that many in world know exactly what it's like to have their genitalia mutilated. Blah blah blah!

I think however the poster never considered an ambush from an opportuistic superficial pedant.

As for Gitmo being full of people "who hate us". It sounds like Snooty recons it's okay to treat them live subhumans.

I think Snooty should ask itself (that non-sexist enough?) whether the Daily Mail forum would be a better pastime.
