The Cuban people have been denied their civil, economic and political rights. Our objective is to each week feature one of the many cubans, who are prisoners of conscience. These political prisoners are being mistreated, tortured and humiliated in Castro’s prisons. Cuban prisoners of conscience are the forefront of the struggle against Castro’s tyranny and they deserve our recognition and support. They represent the paradigm in which Cuba’s freedom and democratic values should be anchored in the future."

Once again the Censorship panel at Indymedia UK is determined to hide the truth about political repression and police harrasement of those fighting for democracy and freedom in Cuba. Posts detailing political prisoners held in appaling conditions in jail are quickly hidden or removed because those people running Indymedia UK would rather YOU did not see the truth about the regime in Cuba.

Those of us who support Cuban Politicals know full well the European Left does all it can to paint the Castro regime as a Socialist paradise with no crime, dissent or objections to the non elected junta running the country but the reality is different and Indymedia UK and its apologists for the corrupt dictatorship do all they can to hide the truth. Indymedia UK will do all it can to prevent YOU knowing of the terrible conditions these brave men and women are living under and will I'm sure fall back on the tired old excuse of it all being the fault of the USA but with help, commitment and faith in the dream of a free Cuba we will prevail.
