Jamal Abdullah Kiyemba – British resident abandoned to his fate. On Thursday 9th February British Resident Jamal Abdullah Kiyemba was transferred out of Guantanamo to Uganda after the British Government refused to help him. The Home Secretary has issued an order banning Jamal from the UK despite the fact that he has lived here since he was 14, his family are here, and he has never been charged with any crime.

The cases of Omar Deghayes, Bisher Al-Rawi and Jamil El Banna are the subject of a judicial review currently being considered by the High Court, and the British government has still not answered questions over British involvement in the kidnap of Bisher Al-Rawi, Jamil El-Banna and Binyam Mohamed.

16th February 2006 – Babar Ahmad Campaign - Parliamentary meeting about Extradition Act 2003, 6.45 to 8.30 pm, Attlee Suite, House of Commons, Westminster

Babar Ahmad is a British citizen who faces the real possibility of being extradited to the US under the Extradition Act 2003. The act was rushed through Parliament and is a non-reciprocal arrangement with the US which allows for British citizens to be transferred to the US for interrogation, held there indefinitely without trial and without any legal redress for allegations of torture and ill-treatment. Chaired by Sadiq Khan MP, speakers: Boris Johnson MP, Vincent Cable MP, Sally Ireland (Senior Legal Officer, Justice, Gareth Peirce, James Welch, Moazzem Begg, representations on behalf of mayor of London Ken Livingstone.
