"What U Shoutin' 'Bout' is a multi screen video Installation, whereby multiple TV's are taken over with images, sounds and voices from the global justice movement to create an audio visual montage of rhythms and debate.
"What U Shoutin' 'Bout' is a multi screen video Installation, whereby multiple TV's are taken over with images, sounds and voices from the global justice movement (including Stop The War and G8) to create an audio visual montage. The intention of the work is to provoke debate and action.
Millions of people worldwide are campaigning for a world where people and the planet are put before profit. Millions are marching against illegal, immoral wars and for a world free from violence, be it from group or state terrorism. Often this protest either gets ignored or distorted by mass media. In "What U shoutin 'bout", the media is reclaimed and taken over by an alternative voice from the street
The footage in the attached quicktime is from an Exhibition in Coventry (Oct 2005).
I am working to take the installation elsewhere, ideally in public spaces, if you have any suggestions please contact me on richardedkins@hotmail.com
