The EASF brings together activists and campaigners from around the region
and is an opportunity to learn from each other, coordinate activity and
create networks.

The EASF will be concentrating on two main sessions this Saturday.

First, we'll be discussing the crisis in the NHS and how it effects this
region. 3/4 of all NHS trusts in the UK are reporting they will have to
make cut backs this year and yet the government says that they are
putting in more money than ever. But if that's true where is the extra
money going... how can we combat these cuts... how can activists and
trade unions work together to create the best possible defence of the
health service...

Second, we'll be discussing "thinking global and acting local" with
contributions from an eye witness to the world social forum, on the
climate change camp later in the year and much more. Often we find
ourselves focused on single issue campaigns and organising and hopefully
this session will provide a much needed space to discuss our ideas in a
broader way.

There will also be the opportunity to raise other issues and
promote activity.
